Police are investigating a violent robbery at a Clarksville pizza shop.

Employees were cleaning up Wednesday night at Jet's Pizza on Fort Campbell Boulevard when two men and a woman, all wearing masks, came in through the back door.

"They were all wearing black. They all had ski masks on," said assistant manager Nora Hopkins. "She talked first. She said, 'Get on the floor, get on the floor.'"

One of the robbers went to the front cash register and struck the shift manager on the head with the butt of the gun. He was not seriously hurt, but the six workers who were inside at the time were shaken.

Hopkins has a two-year-old, and that's what she was thinking about as she lay on the floor.

"I was laying under the sink, so the only part of my body that was out would have been my legs. So, if she did shoot, it was only going to be my legs," Hopkins said.

One employee, who preferred not to be identified, said he had a decision to make.

"Should I grab the machete next to me?" the employee said he wondered.

It was a big pizza knife, but he decided against it, knowing at least one of the guns wasn't a toy.

"He had a .38 revolver, and I knew that was real, because it was about this far from my face, and I could see the bullets in the cylinder," the employee said.

After the robbery, all three suspects fled out the back door and ran away.

While police were working the case, someone said he saw a person stash something in the bushes. Then that person went over to a nearby trailer. Turns out, that is where Daniel Denardi lives. Now he's under arrest for allegedly robbing his neighborhood pizza parlor.

Denardi is 19 years old. Police also arrested a 17-year-old and 20-year-old Illisa Renee Smith.

The same group is suspected of robbing a Mapco earlier the same night.

The employees say they know Denardi. He rides his bike up and down the street. In fact, one worker went to school with him since seventh grade.

"I never expected that from him," the employee said.
