A 4-year-old girl was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center after she was hit by a pickup truck at a Clarksville gas station Wednesday night.

At about 9 p.m., a Nissan Titan pickup accidentally backed into the child at a Shell Station located at 1232 Trenton Rd.

The truck was driven by Genalle Brown of Clarksville, TN.  The girl was with her father, Alwyn Fulson of Antioch, at the time of the incident.

The injured child was taken to Gateway Hospital and then to Vanderbilt in Nashville, said police.

Police said Brown and Fulson disagreed on how far the vehicle backed up and if it was in a parking space or not.

Witnesses confirmed Brown's statement, but she was still cited for failure to use due care. The condition of the little girl is unknown at this time.
