HENDERSONVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police arrested a man in Hendersonville after a home invasion in Nashville on Sunday morning.

According to police, the man, armed with a knife and hatchet, knocked on the door of a home on Curdwood Boulevard early Sunday morning.

When no one answered, officers said the man, later identified as Arturo Perez, 18, of Florence, KY, tried another door, and a woman answered.

Investigators said the Perez forced his way inside and got into a struggle with the woman. Then police said she managed to get a knife, which scared the attacker away.

The victim called 911 and gave police a description of the man and his vehicle, officers said, and minutes later officers in area of South Gallatin Pike spotted Perez and tried to stop him.

Perez crashed near exit 3 on Vietnam Veterans Parkway in Hendersonville and taken into custody.  He's charged with aggravated robbery and felony evading police.
